Mississippi Test Facility, Booster Rocket of the Saturn V Space Vehicle

The huge S-IC-4, fourth flight stage of first stage booster rocket of the Saturn V space vehicle, spews smoke and flames as it was static test fired at MTF.  The big 138-foot rocket, burning liquid oxygen and RP-1 kerosene, developed 7.5 million pounds of thrust during the static firing conducted by the Boeing Company test crew.  MTF is a component of the George C. marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Alabama.
